Streams of the Pilots
The pilots will include two streams:

Workers in Canada: For foreign home care workers already residing and working in Canada.

Applicants Not Working in Canada: For foreign home care workers applying from abroad.
Initially, applications will only be accepted for the Workers in Canada stream when the pilots open on 31st March 2025. The stream for applicants not working in Canada will be available at a later date, which has yet to be announced.

Employer Eligibility for Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots
To hire caregivers through the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots, employers must meet the following criteria:

Job Offer: Employers must provide a full-time job offer in home care within Canada, outside Quebec.

Direct Hiring: Employers must directly hire caregivers to provide home care services. This includes private households, home health care service providers, home care support service providers, direct care agencies, and personal care services in residential settings.

Exclusion of Recruitment Agencies: Recruitment or placement agencies are not eligible to participate in these pilots.

Compliance with Employment Standards: Employers must comply with all relevant employment standards and regulations in their province or territory.

Are you a home care provider?
Worker Eligibility for Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots
To be eligible for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Language Proficiency: Achieve a minimum level of 4 in the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) in English or French.

Education: Hold the equivalent of a Canadian high school diploma or higher.

Work Experience or Training: Have at least six months of recent and relevant work experience in home care or have completed a caregiver training program of at least six months.

Job Offer: Obtain a full-time job offer in home care within Canada, outside Quebec.
